A pressure safety valve opens automatically if the pressure becomes higher than the preset level in any system. This valve ensures that pipelines, boilers, pressure vessels, and other processes do not suffer from overpressure. Speciality Valve is a prominent Pressure Safety Valve Manufacturer in India, manufacturing valves for steam, gas, liquid and industrial process services.

Available Pressure Relief Configurations

The valve contains a body, nozzle, disc, spindle, spring and bonnet. System pressure acts beneath the disc, while the spring keeps it closed during normal operation. When the set pressure is reached, the disc lifts to discharge fluid. It closes again after pressure returns to an acceptable level.

Available configurations include:

  • Conventional Design: Suitable where built-up and variable back pressure remain within permitted limits
  • Balanced Bellows Design: Reduces the effect of back pressure and protects internal components from the process medium
  • Open Bonnet: Commonly used for suitable steam and high-temperature applications
  • Closed Bonnet: Protects the spring assembly and suits applications requiring enclosed construction
  • Flanged Design: Used for industrial pipelines, vessels and process equipment
  • Threaded Design: Available for smaller sizes and compatible services

Materials

  • Body: Carbon steel, low-temperature carbon steel, alloy steel or stainless steel
  • Disc and Nozzle: Stainless steel or corrosion-resistant alloy
  • Seat: Metal, hardened metal or suitable soft seat
  • Spring: Carbon steel, alloy steel or stainless steel
  • Bellows: Stainless steel or designated corrosion resistant alloy
  • Bonnet: Material compatible with the body and service conditions

Material Grades

  • Carbon Steel: ASTM A216 WCB
  • Low-Temperature Carbon Steel: ASTM A352 LCB
  • Alloy Steel: ASTM A217 WC6
  • Stainless Steel: ASTM A351 CF8, CF8M, CF3 and CF3M
  • Trim Grades: SS304, SS316, SS304L or SS316L, depending on service
  • Spring Grades: Carbon steel, stainless steel or high-temperature alloy grades

Pressure Safety Valve Specifications

  • Size Range: DN15 to DN300
  • Pressure Rating: ASME Class 150 to Class 2500 or PN16 to PN100
  • Operation: Automatic, direct spring-loaded
  • End Connections: Flanged, threaded, socket-weld or butt-weld
  • Seating: Metal-seated or soft-seated
  • Set Pressure: Adjusted according to the protected equipment and applicable code
  • Temperature: Determined by body, trim, spring, seat and process conditions
  • Discharge: Gas, vapour, steam or liquid, subject to valve design and sizing

Industrial Uses

  • Oil and Gas: Pipelines, separators and process vessels
  • Chemical and Petrochemical: Reactors, storage equipment and process systems
  • Power Generation: Boilers, steam lines and pressure equipment
  • Refineries: Hydrocarbon, steam and utility services
  • Water Treatment: Pumps, pressure systems and compatible chemical services
  • Industrial Utilities: Compressed air, gas, water and steam networks

Codes and Testing Requirements

  • Sizing and Selection: API 520, where applicable
  • Flanged Valve Dimensions: API 526 for applicable flanged steel pressure-relief valves
  • Seat Tightness: API 527
  • Pressure Vessels: ASME Section VIII
  • Boiler Applications: ASME Section I, where required
  • Flanged Ends: ASME B16.5 or ASME B16.47
  • Welded Ends: ASME B16.11 or ASME B16.25, as applicable

Testing can include set-pressure verification, shell testing, seat-leakage testing, blowdown checks and functional inspection. Final selection must consider relieving capacity, accumulation, back pressure, fluid state, temperature and discharge arrangement.

As a leading Pressure Safety Valve Manufacturer in India, Speciality Valve manufactures valves in different sizes, pressure ratings, materials and configurations for dependable overpressure protection across critical industrial applications.
